It seems D.C. is on its way to becoming a true coffee town with the arrival of several new roasters and coffee shops. The latest to look out for: Zeke’s Coffee. Owner John Kepner announced today that the Baltimore operation will open its D.C. roastery and coffee lab on Nov. 2 at 2300 Rhode Island Ave. NE in the Woodbridge neighborhood between Brookland and Mt. Rainier, Md.

Zeke’s, whose coffee is already available at several local markets and restaurants, will offer a few varieties “on tap,” plus more than 25 roasts by the cup at the pour-over bar. On weekends, guests can stop by for coffee tastings covering various themes. The team will hand-roast coffee in 10-pound batches onsite.

The hours on opening day are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. After that, Zeke’s will be open Wednesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends (when pastries are available) from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
