For nearly 34 years Cuneiform Records has released new and archival music from experimental and cutting edge artists. In January the label announced that it was laying off several employees and would not be releasing new music for a year. It’s not clear if the label will resume releasing music after its year-long break. City Paper arts editor Matt Cohen talked to Cuneiform’s founders, Steve Feigenbaum and Joyce Nalewajk Feigenbaum, about the label’s history and their decision to stop releasing music.
