Update: Bramson and Yamazaki are no longer part of the team bringing TABU to The Wharf. They’re looking for another space for a collaborative restaurant. 

Ballston Quarter Market continues to fill out with exciting dining options. The latest addition is a dumpling and sushi restaurant from Sushi Taro chef Nobu Yamazaki, Pinch Dumplings, and restaurateur Mike Bramson called Roll’d. Bramson and Yamazaki are already collaborating on a full-scale restaurant at The Wharf called TABU.

Yamazaki is veering away from the traditional Japanese cuisine featured at his Dupont Circle restaurant to serve a variety of sushi rolls with dipping sauces like tomato salsa and roasted garlic miso.

Customers can mix and match the rolls with dumplings from Pinch to form a combination box. There are five steamed dumplings to choose from, including pork and cabbage, chicken and corn, and Maryland crab. View the menu below.

Bramson says he hopes to open Roll’d with a limited menu throughout the weekend and next week before a grand opening in the first week of May, when the full menu will become available. 

The restaurant joins a host of other stalls at the food hall including Hot Lola’s from Himitsu chef Kevin Tien, Sloppy Mama’s BBQ, Turu’s by Timber Pizza Co., and Ice Cream Jubilee.
