When news broke Friday that all 17 D.C.-area Taylor Gourmet locations would close by this Sunday, Sept. 23, employees learned they’d be out of a job in a matter of days. A spokesperson for the sandwich chain told the Post they weren’t aware of any severance packages. 

Today, another homegrown fast-casual chain is stepping in to help. CAVA will host a job fair on Tuesday, Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at its locations in Chinatown (707 H St. NW) and the Mosaic District (2905 District Ave., Fairfax) to help Taylor Gourmet workers find new employment. 

“These will be open interviews where any Taylor team member can walk in and meet with a CAVA manager,” says Ben Famous, CAVA’s head of strategic communications and brand marketing. He says they will be interviewing for various positions including the grill station and management roles for the company’s plentiful locations in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

Bub and Pops co-owner Jonathan Taub is looking for employees for his sandwich shop. “Bub and Pops needs four experienced sandwich makers and two solid shift managers,” he says. Bub and Pops is located at 1815 M St. NW. He asks interested individuals to send resumes to eat@bubandpops.com.

Le Pain Quotidien is also hosting job fairs this week and encourages former Taylor Gourmet employees to attend. The hiring events are on Wednesday and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. and 2:30-4:30 p.m. at 1401 K St. NW.
