Lenny Campello is best known in Washington art circles as a gallerist and as the voice behind the Daily Campello Art News blog, which he’s published since 2003. Now, for the first time since 2008, he’s the subject himself in a retrospective at Artists and Makers Studios 2. The work in the exhibit stretches back to Campello’s art school days and focuses on a couple of his far-ranging “artistic obsessions,” as he calls them, from Frida Kahlo to the Book of Genesis to the Picts of Scotland.
