Cal was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy—a disease that affects the brain's ability to communicate with the voluntary muscles that are used for activities such as crawling, walking, head and neck control, breathing, and swallowing. This disease is heartbreaking but J., Janet, and Cal are down for the fight...and we're helping them to raise money to do just that.
100% of ticket sales will go directly to the Robbins' family. To purchase your tickets, stop by the Black Cat Box Office, call 202-397-SEAT, or go to ticketmaster.com. Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 9, at 5 p.m., or without service charge from the Black Cat box office. Hand-screened show posters, and indie crafts will be for sale at the show—making a purchase is another way to donate. To learn more about Cal and to make a donation, go to desotorecords.com. The City Paper would like to thank the following people: Dante and Vicki at the Black Cat, Ryan Nelson for his art, Matt Michael for screening all the posters, Kim at Desoto, Thievery Corporation, Head-Roc, Antelope, the crafters, and all of our staff who helped to put this all together. Our thoughts and well wishes go to the Robbins' family...
