LAST WEEK'S MYSTERY BAND: "I predict," predicted Elizabeth Botten, "that a huge row will develop between the band and the drummer over whether he quit or was fired for his refusal to kowtow to the vest and/or button-down short-sleeve-shirt look that his former bandmates sport with abandon." Glenn Flaherty asked simply, "Fatty McTatty and the Amazing Technicolor Sweater-Vest?" "Hey!" said Kip Shepherd, "This week's band is a ska band called the Codependents. This was the cover of the first record called I NEED A HUG. These guys redefined the mosh pit and the world is a happier place for it. The drummer is gonna be the first to leave if nobody starts giving him some attention soon. See how he's adopted a defensive posture and dressed in black? Those are warning signs." Always beware of those sulky folks in black, eh? (Waitthat's our entire readership!) Bill Ribas sends this, for which words are inadequate. We were surprised that no love was shown for B'more's own BIG BLOW AND THE BUSHWACKERS. The band is back with that big didgeridoo sound.
Finally, heads-up, all you Cheap Chick fans: CC drummer Bunni Carlos talks to Bun E. Carlos in the current issue of DRUM! magazine, on your newstand.
