This place is always packed and I don't quite understand why. The food is good, but not stellar. They only have one soup offered each day and very expensive menu items. It was good, but I don't think the hype is worth it.

At this always busy Bethesda hot spot, the menu is reliable and the decor is above average. For a place that used to be where we went for burgers and milkshakes, the food has definitely improved. Expect to pay $10 for a martini.

Houston's a staple of the restaurant community. You can never go wrong with a meal at this restaurant. The menu is not extensive, but everything is consistently good. My regular meal is spin dip as a starter (the best ever, hands down), a salad and grilled BBQ salmon. The BBQ salmon is not on the menu, but they will make it for you. The chili and new england clam chowder are the best around. And if you like chili burgers, you need to give Houston's a try, only available when the Chili is the soup of the day. (I believe it's Saturday)

The food is always delicous, service is always dependable and it's guaranteed the restaurant is always packed! Expect a wait, especially at 12:30 for lunch and around 7 and later for dinner. Reservations aren't accepted. The spinach dip is the best I've ever had, the burgers are great and the salads are filling and tasty with a variety of options. You can't go wrong with anything you order on the menu. And if you have room for dessert, definitely get the five nut warm brownie with ice cream and a champagne sauce!!

Dinner at Houston's is always great, but so is lunch!! And it is MUCH cheaper. We begun with salads, I love the buttermilk garlic dressing. Followed by a veggie burger with fries. The burger is made from beets, the only way you know is by the pink color not in taste! The fries are crisp and well-seasoned.

The service was terrible! The waitress never refilled our water glasses, we had to ask the bartender. Only one entree was brought out, several mintues later the second entree followed. The waitress never checked back to see if we needed anything else. After she cleared our plates 20 mintues after we finished eating, she tried to clear the water glass I was still drinking out of!!

The waitress was terrible, but I would 100% return and pray we did not get seated in the terrible waitress's section again!!
