My husband and I weren't too impressed by the Bombay Gaylord. When we entered at 8:30 pm, it was very busy. The waiter had to set a table for us -- by putting a tablecloth over a visibly dirty table, without even wiping it off. The service was attentive, but not coordinated. For example, I ordered dessert from someone (I couldn't tell who our primary waiter was), and then received the check next. Upon asking about my dessert, I was then told that they had been really busy and ran out of all desserts except rice pudding. Disappointing, but at least tell me!

We ordered samosas, chaat papri, shrimp korma, a dish with vegetarian "nuggets," and naan. The food was fine, but not particularly flavorful or spicy. They serve wine and beer, but do not have a menu for it. The wine, which was just $4 for a very full glass, was limited house wine. The beer included some nice Indian beers.

To sum it up, the food was okay, and service was okay, but I won't go out of my way to return.

Food is always great as well as the staff. Hardly ever have to wait and never had a problem with the food. Check it out you will be pleased. You will never run out of water either.

Bombay Gaylord has some great dishes--one friend swears by the butter chicken, and the vegetable croquettes, sweet and nutty, are fork-tender without dissolving into mush. It also has some just-edible items--the leaden balls of the fried-onion appetizer, say. If you choose carefully--and the number of happy regulars suggests that that's easy to do--you should have a fine meal. But don't expect fine service; the staff does not understand the importance of a gracious welcome, or of timing your meal, or even, necessarily, of a clean tablecloth.

The food was scrumptious and the servers were all really pleasant. They even gave us a complimentary buttered chicken dish (which was interesting...I'd never had it before. It was bright orange and had a surprisingly sweet flavor.) I'll definitely be back here the next time I want Indian!

This place looks very shady from the outside, but is actually nice on the inside.
