The room is open and airy, but the almost bare walls and exposed rafter ceiling reflect noise to the extent that conversation in a half-full room almost drowns out the soft sitar music on the speakers. Dishes on the buffet seemed over or under seasoned. The yellow daal was watery and unexpectedly hot, the palak paneer very bland. Mixed vegetables were well balanced, tandoori chicken unexceptional. The naan bread had suffered from its time on the steam table and was dry and chewy. Goat curry was cooked to tenderness and nicely seasoned. Lamb biryani was under seasoned and benefited greatly from a dab of mint chutney. Masala tea was strong but barely spiced and not really worth the $2. I expected much better in this multi-ethnic neighborhood.

Sunday buffet was tasty. The 1st dish was beautifully presented, with green chiles standing upright in the chickpea dish like a spicy forest.
Great split of meat & veggie options, and dessert--mango mousse.
Place is kinda a dive. Waitstaff did not seem to mind that we lingered until we were out of food coma and ready to drive back to DC.

Excellent Indian food, perhaps moderately attenuated for Western tastes but very Indian nonetheless. Many Indian clients when we were there. We had the mixed appetizer plate, chicken tandoori, and a lamb/spinach dish. All good. An impressive giant puffed puri was served. Sweet lassi was unusually strong, and seemingly prepared with authentic yoghurt. Not cheap, but fairly priced. Partially open kitchen. On the whole, worth a detour.

I have been to Tiffin scores of times, to enjoy the grand lunch buffet or the crowded dinner. And never have I been disappointed.
As for the lunch buffet, the spread does not change much and it's monotonous for the regular eaters. But from the menu, one can always find good tasty food. I have had people from several nationalities enjoying my company at Tiffin. For the vegetarians too, there are items, although they rarely make anything with customized requests (I had a friend who wanted to have something without onion and garlic, and there was only one item they could make)...
overall, Tiffin is great place to eat. Always

Our servers were very accomodating to our large party. Great options for vegetarians.

At Tiffin, it’s all about the food. The attentive, but not in-your-face, wait staff brings you food that most of us don’t have the time let alone the skill to produce. I’m all for slow-food, but you’d have to make a career out of cooking this food. The chicken makhani, lamb vindaloo, or masala dosai washed down by a Taj Mahal, now your cooking with kerosene! The décor is clean and sparse and dodging the j-walkers in Langley Park is a thrill, but if you're nearby or not so nearby, stop and have some great food.
