Las Palmas is tucked away in a strip mall at the intersection of University Boulevard and New Hampshire Avenue. My visit was on a Friday night, and though the place was much louder than I expected (and for a while I think I was the only woman in there, except for the wait staff), I really enjoyed the energy of the crowd as much as the food and service. It's not the place to go for a quiet conversation, or, at least after dark, to take the kids for a meal; but if you're looking for a lively place to enjoy authentic Mexican dishes and a Corona or two - at very reasonable prices - this is a good bet.
