New Heights has been a consistent favorite of mine for many years -- the food is always excellent, and the atmosphere is simple elegance. Mr. Singh is always impeccably polite and helpful, but unfortunately on this night the service didn't live up to its usual professionalism. I don't know if it was restaurant week or what, but our server was often no where to be seen, when my desired wine was unavailable he did not help with a new selection or even come back to find out what I wanted, and hot tea ordered after dinner never appeared. All that said, it was still an enjoyable meal -- the risotto in particular was superb and perfect -- and I would give the service another chance...

New Heights tickled my fancy with a bright yet relaxed atmosphere, a diverse (Restaurant Week) menu with uncomplicated entrees but modern variety. I was very impressed with the waiter's knowledge of wine pairings with each course. The sublimely cooked salmon had a peculiar scent of French Toast, which I found heavenly. (Perhaps some maple syrup was stirred with Port topping). New Heights doesn't make a meal too fancy nor complicated. It presents a fresh and punchy atmosphere with similar service. Perhaps New Heights is not the most memorable meal I've experienced in DC, but I can understand why Wahsingtonians consider new heights a standard in fine dining.

I was very underwhelmed. We all had the wine special, which included dishes selected from the summer menu. Only two wines, and nothing special. The dishes were, in general, fair to poor at best. One plate of halibut had to be sent back. Fried oysters were some type of fritter--couldn't even taste oyster. Crab cakes were nothing special and the bed of vegetables they were served on, while pretty, detracted from the crabcake flavor. Caesar salad was bizarre, including some type of cheese cracker and one piece of anchovy, with almost no dressing of any kind.

I won't be returning anytime soon.

I was absolutely underwhelmed with New Heights. I had heard great things and went here for a special occasion dinner. The dining room is rather boring, the service was cordial but not incredible and the food was definitely not worth the price. Overall, rather disappointing.

A great, consistent restaurant with a nice mix of interesting foods with more standard fare. Lovely service, a pleasant ambiance and well executed dining. Great place for a date or a leisurely meal.

This is probably the best quality food I have had in DC.

New Heights describes not only the vantage point from which you'll view the park, it also describes the level to which your gastronomic experience will ascend after the first bite. Don't miss this best-kept-secret. I had the langoustines with the tamale, the seared arctic char, and the pumpkin pecan bread pudding. It couldn't have been a higher height unless I'd died & gone to heaven.
