I'd been looking forward to a cheeseburger from Five Guys for a couple of weeks and was not disappointed. It was great - just what I had expected! The cajun fries were excellent. Although they were busy, the service was good.

From a Los Angeles burger aficionado transplanted in DC, I heard people raving about 5 guys. I was so excited (missing my beloved In and Out burgers), I went to try it out for myself. I was terribly dissapointed by the service, taste and price. The burgers, with all 100 choices of topping were terrible (not enough cheese for the huge patty), fries were over cooked and lemonade tasted like water. I'm not sure if the free peanuts keeps people coming back, but unless your an elephant I would prefer Wendy's. If you're into big portions, they do have that. But when food is bad, I would give it away too.

Arguably the best burger in the D.C. metropolitan area. The burgers are made to order with a wide assortment of toppings available. My meal was rounded out with the boardwalk fries that were just okay. The burger was well-worth the trip from the District...and added a sense of novelty to Old Town that may be lost with the additions of Five Guys to the District restaurant scene. The restaurant, situated in a small store front just off the beaten path, will not win you over with its ambiance (or lack thereof) but for the price and the quality of the burger, the decor can be ignored.

Five Guys is a great value. The food is fresh and you get a lot for your money. I have never had a bad burger at Five Guys.
I would have given this place more stars, but I feel silly giving a hamburger joint more than three stars. Definitely the best hamburgers in town. All the beef is fresh, never frozen. The fries are fresh cut, and they always have written on a sign exactly where the potatoes came from that day. Fresh, juicy, and you can taste that wonderful grease just melting into your mouth. You burger lovers know what I'm talking about! I just wish they'd open some in Maryland!

This is a bare bones operation, but what they offer is consistently great. The staff is friendly and the service is quick.

Don't forget the endless supply of shelled peanuts to occupy you while waiting for your order * All orders served in a brown paper bag * Listen closely for your order number to be called, the employees don't speak entirely clearly *
