I had a $100 coupon for the Capital Grille from my American Express Card. I figured by 8 p.m. I would be able to get a table but the hostess told me it would be an hour and a half wait, so I went to the bar. All the tables were full and though there were other spots to eat they were not as comfortable as at the bar which took another 15 minutes until I could get a seat. I started off with a wedge of iceberg lettuce and blue cheese dressing. I wanted russian dressing but I could not have it changed. The salad was sprinkled with bacon chips and was an enjoyable starter. I ordered the sirloin medium rare with a side suggested by the bar tender of yellow and white corn. Both were excellent with the beef having a crisp outside and not over cooked to the point it had no taste. The corn made me wish I had order a full size serving instead of the half size. I also had two glasses of the house merlot which I found very tasty and mellowing. The bar tender was friendly and I had serveral conversations with other guests at the bar. At the point I had only spent $72 and since I did not get any change back from my coupon I bought four desserts, each delicious.

Very good. Very expensive. Kona crusted sirloin very tasty as was my wife's fillet oscar. Creamed spinach was good, though not particularly extraordinary. Lobser mac-n-cheese a bit disappointing. Cheese sauce was too Alfredo-esque. Next time, I'd try different sides. Lobster bisque was a rich meal by itself and my wife raved about her French onion soup. Key lime pie very tasty and best Manhattan I've ever had to drink. Service was excellent. All-in-all very good, but very expensive.
