The food was OK, and the service was relatively good. Our main complaint was that the men's restroom was disgusting, worse than a frat house bathroom. The dishes were tasty but not inspiring, and they were out of several things. The highlight was the crispy shiitake mushroom appetizer, which was basically General Tso's chicken in a vegetarian form. On the other hand, the main dishes were mostly mediocre, but the portions were good.

Yum Yum Yum! This is the best quick Chinese I've had in a long time. My wonton soup didn't taste like the inside of a bottle of MSG, spring rolls were crisp and light, the Clay Pot entree was enough for two meals and the flavors mixed well together. I'll be going back to Harmony a lot! Don't be put off by the street entrance and foyer--the actual restaurant is nicely decorated.

If you're catching a movie, doing some shopping, or are in Georgetown for any reason, there's no better place to refuel than Harmony Cafe. Almost any dish on the extensive menu can be veganized, and they have a list of vegetable dishes. The one thing I always get when I go there is the Vegetarian's Skewers, an appetizer consisting of three beautiful vegetable kabobs with a luscious sesame-peanut sauce.
I have always enjoyed attentive service when I go, and I would recommend it to anyone needing another good veg option in Washington, D.C.

I second what everyone else says. A gift to all of us put-upon vegetarians.

Best vegetarian selection in town and one of my favorite spots. Quiet and underground, for a vegetarian like me, Harmony Café rocks. Everything on the menu can be made with or without meat, so I can take a friend or group and not have to worry about everyone finding something they will like (Meat-eaters can be so anti-soy sometimes!). Harmony's vegetarian hot-and-sour soup is to die for -- get 2 bowls! About 10 menu pages of vegetarian appetizers and meals that incorporate several different types each of tofu, seitan, and other meat substitutes. Because there is usually only one (very very nice) woman working the dining room (they also do takeout and delivery in the area), the service may seem a bit slow, but everything is made to order, delicious, and well worth the wait. PLEASE Don't let that keep you away! Plan to avoid peak times -- try off hours or afternoons. Also, skip the soft drinks or mixed drinks; Take the unlimited water or bottled beer as your best bet. I have driven up to 30 minutes with a bad cold for that hot and sour soup -- It will make you feel 200% better on a chilly day or when you've got a stuffy nose.

Although not a veg restaurant, there were veg versions of most things listed on the menu. They included all meat dishes/seafood which were quite good, even for the non veg in the party.

Service was excellent. The menu offers a vegetarian version on almost every dish. Prices are reasonable as well for the large portions. The only issue is getting to Georgetown. No parking and not close to a metro stop.
Another plus if you are in their delivery area, their free delivery.

Harmony Cafe is a hidden treasure in Georgetown. It has a huge selection of outstanding pan-Asian foods with specialty in vegetarian/vegan dishes. The prices are low, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is fun.

Harmony is a little vegetarian delight in Georgetown. Very cheap, very big interesting menu. They have this amazing shitake mushroom appetizer, you would never guess was made out of mushrooms. Everything on the menu can be made vegetarian, and that's the way I'd recommend going. The "real" food here is not as good as most Chinese restuarants, but it definitely worth the trip if you want to go the vegetarian route. While most Asain places are pretty veggie friendly, it's nice to have a restaurant where you can get vegetarian wonton soup. They also have really good lunch specials: $4.95 for a salad, spring roll, and entree. And the portions are very generous.
