This restaurant makes you feel at home. Parking on the street is not difficult. I particularly enjoy the garlic chicken. I really want to see this restaurant continues to succeed.

The best time to come to 4912 is at lunch on a weekday, when they have a $6.95 lunch special. It includes soup or spring roll and a choice of main courses from a pretty extensive selection, and if you like Thai food (I love it) you're sure to find the dish you like in that selection.
Portion sizes are a bit on the small size, the only negative I'd give the place, but everything I've had has been delicious, and anyone I've been with here has liked what they've had too.

My experience was nothing special. The ambiance was very 1980 with linens of teal and pink and horrible elevator music. The food was bland and nothing to write home about. The Pad Thai and fried rice had the least taste out of the entrees at our table. The lunch was a cheap price but I don’t plan on going back.

This reliable Thai place - in the restaurant wasteland of Wisconsin Avenue between the Tenley and Friendship Heights metro stations - provides well-executed versions of the standard Thai fare: stuffed chicken wings, Pad Thai, green and red curries, several dishes featuring broad rice noodles, and so forth. Service is efficient and quick, prices are reasonable. Eating at 4912 is like dining at the old Thai Room in its heyday. The place fills with neighborhood families early in the evening.

In a city where Thai restaurants are a dime a dozen, 4912 proved to be a good find by providing a quality meal in a unique setting for a relatively inexpensive price.
The restaurant is fairly small and does well with creating a welcoming aura. The authentic trinkets used for decoration definitely can serve as conversation starters.
The menu is overwhelmingly large at first, until one realizes that the 60 options are more like ten, just with a different meat.
Nonetheless, the food was well prepared. We ate family style, sharing two main dishes, and both were distinct and adjusted to our requests (in terms of how spicy). Both were a bit salty, but not when compared to other Asian restaurants. The price, which included soups and water, was very appropriate for a generous amount of food. Be sure to try some things that sound funny here, they come out well!
