Only today I was saying I'd never met a pizza I didn't like. Then I met Alberto's. Soggy on top and burnt below. The "cheese" was gummy and flavorless, coated with Parmesan powder (which I didn't order or want). The diced tomatoes had little aroma & less flavor, but leaked enough to make the pizza runny--probably were frozen. The rude manager claimed some pepperoni was buried under the cheese, and recited a warning that eating just one slice means no replacement or refund. I was mad enough to deface pizza (and that's really some kinda mad.) I dismantled four slices of pizza & finally found a soggy slice of pale meat. Alberto's has the worst pizza in my 40+ years of liking (read: loving) every other pizza I ever met. Chewy, flavorless, watery. Bad.

The staff was very friendly, and they do take credit cards. They have a number of pizza types available besides pepperoni or cheese which include roma tomato and artichoke, hawaiin, etc. The thing that sets this place apart from the other "jumbo slice" pizza places on 18th is the fact that the pizzas are thin crust, and the slice is a quarter of a pizza. My only complaint is that the pizzas weren't fresh out of the over, although I assume if you get there at the right time, they are. Overall a decent addition to the area. Time will tell if the other Adams Morgan goers like this place better.
