Town Hall is my favorite place to eat in Georgetown and I always recommend it to my friends. It is the most successful example of a combination bar/restaurant I have ever seen, where one area of the business does not overwhelm the other. The menu is superb and is thoughtfully prepared with sophisticated ingredients elevating traditional fare. The chef keeps things interesting by periodically changing the menus to coincide with the seasons. There really is nothing better than turkey pot pie on a winter's night, and the desserts get better every time. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the bar offers great liquor and wine selections. Perfect for meeting friends for drinks, taking a date out to a nice meal, or hanging out for brunch on the weekend.

The food is a tad expensive for the quality, but I still found my meal enjoyable. The goat cheese macaroni was a phenomenal little dish. The service, on the other hand, could use MUCH improvement. The servers were knowledgeable and friendly, but the man who appeared to be the main owner treated his employees with so much disrespect I was tempted to leave the restaurant before my meal even arrived. Never before have I seen such poor treatment and I will certainly never return to this location again, EVER.

There are two Town Hall experiences. One is Friday and Saturday nights, when the establishment is a would-be Smith Point north: status bunnies crowded together, polo shirts and Georgia accents. I avoid that. The rest of the time, it's quieter, allowing you to people watch out the floor-to-ceiling front window or just relax among the dark wood furniture. Items I've enjoyed: the just-right seared sesame tuna and the excellent chorizo sausage quesadilla. Two of my friends swear their grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup is the best thing on the menu. Servers is usually quite pleasant and attentive. As a bonus, if you're upstairs, they have at least four TV's for game-watching.
