One of the greatest bang for your buck restaurants in DC.

I want to love Logan Tavern. Most times I actually do. But my latest visit left me feeling ignored and unwanted from the lack of service and attention to my requests. The smoked salmon benedict is tasty, with fresh smoked salmon, runny poached eggs, and a toasty croissant, but how many times does one need to request more water or salad dressing or other things the diner asks for the first time around. If the waiter(s) can be friendly and actually do their job, I would feel like I am actually getting what I pay for. Maybe next time.

Logan Tavern is a great restaurant if you are looking for high quality ingredients at a relatively reasonable price. While our dirty martinis contributed to a hefty bill, the entrees were very reasonably priced. My southern fried chicken with mashed potatoes was plentiful enough to provide lunch the next day, at only $15.00. I would also recommend Logan Tavern to anyone with food allergies -- one of the diners in our party has a severe soy allergy, and the wait staff and chefs were most accommodating. I know that she appreciated being able to order something more than plain lettuce!

Logan Tavern is that cool-casual place you just want to love. The shared table with blazing candelabras at the center of the dining room just oozes community, but it is too bad the place doesn't execute on that promise. You can't have a community if you can't hear your neighbor, and that was the case during my visit.

Service was solid, although certainly got friendlier towards the end when the tip was imminent.

The food was fine but not particularly flavorful. Logan Tavern is too high-end (or mid-end, anyway) to get a pass for just so-so grub.

Brunch at Logan Tavern is super. Had the nephews along and they had a ball as well. Make your own Bloody Mary menu is sublime. French toast was the best. Their burgers & fries blow away everyone else in the neighborhood. Highly reccomended.

Well, if this restaurant tried any harder to scare away customers, they might as well shut down, as the staff is not good and those who were good have gone, and those who stayed obviously have better things to do than be nice to the customers. The "apple crisp" was not crisp and even the hamburgers are a real crap shoot. Pass.

One of the least interesting menus since the opening of Foodbar. Unfortunately the menu isn't the only thing mediocre...the execution is too.

As far as abience goes, there is little, unless you sit in the front and get your kicks watching who's going shopping at Flesh Fields. That said, the restaurant does grasp after at trendiness with a communal table with waxed-over candelabras.

In my ongoing quest for the ultimate brunch in DC, I'm glad to report I've at least found the ultimate Bloody Mary at Logan Tavern.

Having been burnt too many times on pricey call and just downright awful concoctions, I think I have low expectations. But the bartender gently goaded me. She handed me a menu. Huh? Then she turned it over. And in front of me: an entire page filled with multiple liquors, steps, options, garnishes, additions. All devoted to the creation of your own...personal...Mary. It was a dream. I was feeling restless in a went-home-alone-last-night sort of way. I tried the wasabi. For kicks. And I opted for garnishes of celery/olive/cucumber. "It's like a damn salad with vodka," I said to my friend as I was sucking on the cucumber. "Hey, that's a really good idea," she replied. Yeah. But back to the drink - it was gooooood.

The actual brunch was pretty fabulous. I asked for a vegetarian benedict (not on the menu), and our server actually paused to think about how he could accommodate me - amazing! How about spinach? Yes! End product had carmelized onions in addition! Wonderful. Oddly, mine came with fruit bowl instead of potatoes. This would normally p*** me off. But it was good fruit and not a lot of melon. My co-bruncher ordered the grilled cheese with slab bacon. It's rare moments like this that I curse my lifestyle; I could have done some damage to that thing. I also seriously considered doing damage to the shrimp po' boy being consumed by a random woman at the table next to us. Oh well, maybe next time. There will definitely be a next time.

Excellent martinis and wine selection. The food is well made and the meats are given a strong role in several entrees. The mascarpone cheescake is one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. Highly recommmended to anyone looking for a relaxed great meal.

Logan Tavern has turned into a hot spot for 14th St and the Logan Circle area -- and area that was really suffering. There are virtually no other good restaurants in its vicinity and you can tell that by the crowds. There will be a wait for a table but the outside seating is very nice. The food is average, I think it's convenience that attracts the patrons. Try the grilled salmon (be careful, sometimes they burn it) or the grilled turkey steak. The stuffed portabello is a great appetizer, too.

This was my second time dining here, and the food was just as delicious this time around. The atmosphere inside is warm and friendly, and both the host and our waiter had infectious personalities, that made our experience so much fun! The crab cakes benedict and french toast were incredible, and needless to say, we left very satisfied.

The Logan Grill needs to tone down the noise. When you cannot hold a conversation with the person across the table, it is way too loud. The "music" was reduced to a back beat by the loud crowd. The fact that they took out what used to be an accoustic tile ceiling did not help, either.
Once we go seated, everthing went well as far as service and food. The chicken cordon bleu special was delicious.

Logan Tavern is mediocre in its truest sense. That said, D.C. has so few brunch options and Logan Circle is so devoid of quality restaurants, that LT is still a gem. The omelets and burgers are predictable, but tasty. The service is efficient, more than it is friendly. While not the best spot ever, I'd choose it over Luna and a bunch of other brunch spots. I expect to go back and explore the menu further. I have hopes that something will eventually wow me.

The food itself is good, but not great. Some things are inexplicably sweet. Others are good but not very subtle. The menu selections, however, are excellent and if the quality improves as this place matures then it could be a great place to eat and an excellent value. Right now, the place is balancing between a trendy place and a local hang-out. Hopefully it will find it's balance soon and become a more comfortable place. Right now it feels a bit crowded.

This place has a lot of potential. My only serious complaint is about the lack of beers on tap. Seems wrong for a place with "tavern" in its name...

I went to the Logan "Tavern" for dinner with a couple of friends. Although this establishment is called "Tavern," they shamefully have no beers on draught. It took 10-15 minutes for the waiter to bring us water/drinks. When one person in our party asked if a salad came with his order, the waiter snapped back "For four dollars." I asked him about the soup of the day - I honestly can't remember what he said it was. But whatever it was, he did say that it "isn't really that good." So I got the pasta with cream mushroom sauce - the sauce was watery and the pasta rubbery. Not a $12 pasta dish. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

Logan Tavern is a great place to relax and have a good comfortable meal. One of the best things about Logan Tavern is the diversity of menu items, it's possible to bring a large crowd with completely different tastes and still everyone will find something to order. Logan Tavern features a modern menu with enough tradtional staples that both those adventurous with food and those not so much, will be equally satisfied. The booths were cozy and filled with a mixed crowd, young and old, dressed up and down, multi-ethnic all eating and drinking heartily. If there is one thing that's questionable, wouldn't it seem that to be called a "tavern" they should offer at least one draught beer? That being said, Logan Tavern delivers great atmospehere, and comfort food, all in a easy, laid back neighborhood setting. Logan Tavern is a great local alternative to the traditional neighborhood greasy spoon.

One of the best restaurants in the District and in a great hip location across Fresh Fields in Logan Circle.

I love Logan Tavern, if I eat at the bar. It has a great ambiance. While the food is generally very good, service is always slow. It takes forever for the wait staff to get a drink from the bar. Our soup came before the drinks. This has been a repeated problem, so it must be systemic. Otherwise, kudos for the Tavern.

Food was good; Service was horrible. I ordered turkey and was served tuna; sent the tuna back and 25 minutes later was served tuna again. Finally received turkey approx. 40 minutes after everyone else had eaten. Server made multiple excuses, but never apologized. Also, had to be reminded three times to bring second round of drinks we ordered. I would go back, but if seated at this server's table again, would ask to be moved.

Great spot for a drink. The bar is friendly, and has a good vibe. The bar singlehandedly raises the overall rating to three stars.

I found the food to be a little too complex; it would be much, much better if the kitchen focused on the basics (i.e., how to cook a pork loin) and not so much on "interesting" and oftentimes overpowering sauces. No one in my party sampled any of the appetizers.

A very nice neighborhoody feel is the main thing going for this restaurant. The only problem with the ambience is that it's too noisy (not enough sound-muffling). The food is good but not great; the side salad that comes with the entree, though, is excellent (beets, and other yummy stuff, not just lettuce).

My experience was not very good. I ordered a bacon and swiss omelette, which was delivered with only cheese. Not a big deal, and the server immediately sent for another. When I received the second, it has one small strip of bacon and a slice of cheese, in otherwords it was all egg. They had also run out of homefries, and substituted french fries without informing me. I spoke to the manager, who said it should have three strips of bacon and more cheese. He offered to bring me "a couple of strips of bacon". At this point, my partner had finished his meal, so I just kept my plate and ate the bit of omlette that had filling. After the meal, my partner waited at the bar while I ran across the street. When I returned he was covered in bloody mary, as was my seat. He explained that the bartender spilled a drink on him. The manager came to assist, but did not offer any apology. When we received our check, all items, including the spilled drink were on the check. Based on the management attitude, I was not surprised. What a shame! I was hoping they would become my local eat-spot.
