Popular lunch spot with the DC political crowd, Spezie has fantastic dishes that are authentic Italian with a modern twist. The ravioli with walnut cream sauce is to die for! Often a wait for a table, but the service is lightening-fast once you're seated -- we were in and out within 35 minutes - perfect for a DC power lunch.

I love this place, it is gorgeous and the food is amazing. I love taking my parents here whenever they come into town, and they are always wowed by the extra special attention.

Don't bother with this place...the prosciutto was dry and tough, the mozarella paired with it had no flavor. The fava beans were also dry with the pork appetizer.

It has been a long time since I had a really great pasta dish. I found it here! The pasta was not overdone in the least and the sauce was fantastically spiced. The wait staff was friendly, sometimes lacking at the white table cloth establishments, and prompt.
Overall, a great experience.

The food is delicious, pricey, but worth it. We had appetizers, entrees, desserts, and an expensive bottle of wine. You can go there and spend $60 for a couple. The waitstaff can range from out of this world to just good. I got lucky this time and had a phenomenal waiter.

Tried Spezie for Restaurant Week on Friday night. First, there were few customers. Service was good but not outstanding. Unfortunately, the food was a real letdown. The portions were tiny. My veal entree had not been sufficiently tenderized and was overdone. My wife's mushroom ravioli was good but lacked any mushroom flavor. Overall, despite its efforts, Spezie doesn't come close to nearby Italian choices Teatro Goldoni or Tosca.
