I've only had weekend breakfast/brunch here. Good food, good prices, nice people. Definitely not fancy and not brunch-y (nor foodie, and that includes ethnic foodie types), the kind of cheap, filling breakfast -- beans, eggs, etc. -- that I appreciate getting in parts of Central America.

You see more non-Latinos here than other places along the Mt Pleasant strip -- so I guess it's been 'discovered,' but never seems crowded. And it's better than some of the non-Latino places near there. I'd go here WAY before Tonic's expensive and tasteless brunch, say. I also think the food is a bit better than Dos Gringos. Good if I want something more filling and more leisurely than Hellers.

Great place to eat breakfast. Wonderful food that is priced well and good service. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Don Jaime's is a gem in Historic Mt. Pleasant. Conversations with the owner, Don Jaime himself, are worth the trip there alone. After you've fed your brain with some light breakfast discussions on Latin American politics and economics, go straight to the corn tamales or the spinach tortilla. If you're feeling more like a typical 'American' breakfast of eggs, homefries, toast, and bacon or sausage, you can't go wrong. A heaping plate will typically run you less than $5.00-6.00. Endless cups of coffee and tasty OJ help chase the morning away...

What a nice little place! Good, simple breakfast food (other stuff to, I'm sure) with good service! Perfect!:-)

Great eggs and home fries. Potatoes are well seasoned yet not greasy. You can get a decent omelet with fresh vegetables and cup of coffee for under $6.00. We need more breakfast joints in DC like Don’s, and less posh, faux-cafe, over priced, bagel shops. Don Jaime's keeps me hopeful that real people still eat real breakfasts. Tables are limited so large, hung-over Sunday brunch groups may not find a seat after 11:00.
