The option to dine outside was wonderful, and there was not the usual neglect of being left alone outside. Water glasses were refilled promptly and much attention was given to our needs. Great drink special variety, complete drink menu with pictures!!

A somewhat fanciful Chinese restaurant. Food is good..not great. Definitely not greasy which is a plus I suppose (though often grease has flavour!) Felt a bit rushed as we arrived an hr before closing so the waitress wasn't terribly attentive as to whather we wanted an appetizer, etc.

Meiwah has the best Chinese food in DC. The food isn't very greasy, but it is very tasty. Their classic sauces are served up with ginger and garlic and other wonderful savory flavors, and their own sauces are refreshingly unique. Prices are very reasonable. Meiwah rescued me from all of the boring homogenous Chinese restaurants in the area. And they deliver!

I had never experienced *good Chinese food* until Meiwah. For once, eating Chinese food doesn't make you feel like you are ingesting plates full of MSG. The quantities are plenty and the food is very tasty. It's a classy Chinese place that everyone will like. They make pretty much everything you expect, and they end the meal with fresh orange slices and fortune cookies. I go there when I get tired of sushi and/or Thai food, but still want some Asian yum in the tum.

Fast and efficient service including the table-side carving and presentation of very good Beijing Duck. A rich and delicious dish, you probably want to share it among several dinner companions (then again, maybe not:)).

Meiwah is on top of their game! Their service is outstanding!! I felt like we had our own personal wait staff. The food was delicious and well priced. Way to go!

I love going to Meiwah. The restaurant is beautiful and comfortable. The food is always fresh and delicious. The menu can accomodate a variety of tastes and preferences. They are very accomodating about special requests. Service is good, but when they are busy, can lapse.

They also offer delivery and carry out.

Mei-wah has a really good atmosphere if you're looking for a Chinese restaurant that doesn't have the droll vibe of a hash den. Its location on the corner of M and 22nd features wrap-around windows, so there's plenty of light and activity from the outside, and the tall ceilings only accentuate that liveliness.

I was a bit sceptical when the house noodle dish uses Udon instead of lo mein, but it totally worked. Portion sizes are BIG, so plan on sharing AND taking leftovers home. Individual ingredients are tasty, and nothing we had was oily or cheap-tasting. My only real critique is that the food is too straightforward and displays none of the subtlety that great Chinese cooking packs. While the kitchen does a good job, spices that would seem obvious to give their food a kick were absent.

Solid restaurant experience, would definitely go back if I was in the area.

I've been to this restaurant several times, especially since it's around the corner from my office. The food is good--most of the time--but it's a gamble none-the-less. It seems as if the more crowded, the worse the food.
However, every time I go, the service is horrible. The wait-staff are inattentive, forgetful and sometimes just plain clue-less. From reaching across your food to retrieve and re-fill a partially empty glass, to taking away your food without asking if you're done. Not to mention forgetting that you asked for something 10 minutes ago!
Not a good place to take clients, but ok when you want to get out of the office for Chinese.
