AWESOME! I love diners that maintain an old feel. It's very homy and I feel likte I am stepping back in time. The staff is great and I love the food.
Ever since I moved to DC a few years ago, I've been craving the Jersey-style classic diner ambience and food that I grew up on. The American City Diner fits the bill with plenty of character. There are red vinyl booths, chrome paneling, and old-school jukeboxes on each table. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. Not for the pretentious, come here if you want friendly service, a bottomless cup of decent coffee and ribsticking homecooked food.
A decently-cool diner, complete with salty, diner-style service, but the screaming children and overpriced tv-dinners can be wearing.
