A perfect pre-show option given proximity to Warner, National, and Reagan Center. Wonderful food doled out in ample portions. Service was a little cavalier but they took care of us in time to get to our show and they accomodated us when Metro experienced a weekend hiccup. All in all, our party was very impressed with the taste and execution of everything from appetizer to entree.

My boyfriend's crabcake appetizer was very good and the two wines by the glass we tried were both excellent. We'll return for their half-price wine bottle special on Monday nights.

A perfect pre-theater jazz brunch included an electric piano and guitar that played interesting arrangments of popular songs. Extensive menu is impressive but unlike their evening pre-theater specials, Sunday brunch is a la carte and can get expensive (but why put a price on perfection?).
Don't get Chef Geoff mixed up with Chef Jeff (both worth trying)!

I had the artichoke and prosciutto pizza, which I thought was quite good until I tasted my friend's mushroom and smoked mozzarella pizza, which was so wonderful that mine was disappointing afterwards. You always take your chances in situations like that!
The best thing I can say is that their service has improved dramatically. This was the first time in four visits that everything went right. We let the waiter know we were there before a show, and he made sure we got out in plenty of time. We actually had some time to spare but decided not to linger because it had gotten very loud in there.
Do note that the coatcheck is in an open area near the bar. Chances are good your coat will smell of smoke when you retrieve it.

A busy lunchtime resto that caters to the corporate and government suit-types for lunch on weekdays. At this hour, expect lots of bustle and pleasant, but busy servers.
As for the menu, there are plenty of creative options, like miso hummus (probably a misnomer) and lavash chips. This app is nice, but would be much better served with plain pita or lavash, or even bread, anything less greasy than the deep-fried flatbread that currently accompanies it. The miso hummus is oily but nice, more like a chutney or paste than hummus, but leaves no indication that it actually contains chickpeas.
The soups here are good, but a little pricey for the quantity served (and no bread or cracker to accompany them!). The butternut squash soup has a great flavor but is just a little too thick to pass as a soup (think Gerber puree). Good options are the salads (dressing on the side if you want to avoid wilted greens) and sandwiches, served with copious amounts of crispy fries.

Power lunch without the power prices.

Chef Geoff's was AMAZING! They are currently running a summer special where any salad/soup, any entree and any dessert is $25! You can't beat it!

Chef Geoff's has some of the best deals and great food. The burger and fries during the $5 happy hour special is a must have. Very large portion size and the burger comes with bacon and two types of cheese. The duck spring rolls are loaded with duck and come with a delicious dipping sauce. Also, the last Monday of every month, all wine and champagne by the bottle is half-price.

I went here for my Birthday and it was wonderful. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful night. The one on New Mexico avenue is fabulous too. The white fairy lights in the trees on the stone patio...it's an atmosphere that is hard to beat.

There was a spilling accident but it was handled well - with the exception that the only offer was free dessert. No one even suggested cleaning a $700.00 sports jacket of my guest.
(Juice and mimosa)
Even with that we enjoyed the visit tremendously and we will certainly go again
I had purchased the brunch at a silent auction for $30.00

We started with the bruschetta. It was pretty good, but not special, especially for the price. Pastas were good. I had the grilled chicken penne. The smokiness of the chicken and bacon were perfect with the tomato cream sauce. The portion was huge. Easily two meals worth. The mushroom pasta was decent, but would probably have been better with the tomato cream sauce than the sherry cream. The chocolate fudge torte was rich and tasty, although the texture was a bit dense. Service was very good, anticipating our needs, but not overbearing. The atmosphere was nice, and the bar seemed to be a good hangout. All in all a nice experience, and very convenient for the theater.

Chef Geoff's takes standard breakfast foods and turns them into an upscale meal. The brunch menu consists of mostly egg dishes, but they're done with style, such that they not only taste superb but also look wonderful on the plate. The food is complemented by a sophisticated but laid back atmosphere, one that includes live jazz music on Sundays and a friendly, professional staff. I consider Chef Geoff's a welcome escape from the bland, unimaginative dishes served at places like Denny's and Silver Diner. You'll spend more at Chef Geoff's, but it's worth the money.

We went to this restaurant without any real expectations and were extremly surprised and pleased with the service, atmosphere, and cuisine/drinks. The waitstaff was extremely attentive without being overbearing and was very knowledgable of the menu and wines. Definitely a place to visit again in the near future.

I had been looking forward to trying Chef Geoff's for some time. The interior was not what I expected based upon what I knew of the menu. It was dark and woody with brown leather booths. Although this was likely not the case, my impression was that the space had not been updated when the previous tenants vacated. Service was friendly and efficient throughout the meal. The wine list was adequate, and there is a large selection of inexpensive bottles. The bread reminded me of hardtack... if I had delicate teeth I am sure they would have shattered. The appetizer, pork potstickers, was substantial and tasty. I ordered the Asian influenced Green Tea Tuna with fresh lo mein, snap peas, bean sprouts, bok choy, and kim chee. It arrived in a big brown mass... I was not impressed with the presentation. The taste was above average, however the tuna was unevenly cooked (I asked for it medium rare... parts were rare and other parts were medium). My companion had the Fritto Misto Caesar with lightly battered shrimp and calamari. The seafood looked fresh and well prepared. Overall, I would say the dining experience was fair.

We sat on the outdoor seating area and it was lovely. The service was great and both dishes were very tasty. I would go back again & highly recommend the restaurant.

Good pizza, though they took my favorite off the menu. Salads could use a little zing. Nice bartenders, though.

Not bad for Happy Hour from 5-7. $5 burgers are cheesy and have bacon and a real grilled onion. A very generous portion of fries. We had the $7 spring roll appetizer, expensive for 3 small, greasy spring rolls. And the wine was expensive. A $7.95 appetizer, two $5 burgers, three glasses of wine and 3 beers came up to $55? jeez. Also, there is a LOT of smoking at the bar, and cigars as well. I'm a smoker and I had a hard time with it. But overall, an ok experience...

Chef Geoff's caters to Warner theater patrons with a pre-theater dinner special. The $25 special comes with a choice of salad, an entree of either chicken or salmon, and either vanilla ice cream, sorbet or a bread pudding dessert. The chicken in the theater special is excellent and comes with a mushroom and artichoke potato medley. The penne chicken pasta is also incredibly flavorful, but the Pennsylvania chopped salad contains a little too much blue cheese. The presentation of food is excellent. For example, the vanilla ice cream is surrounded by a circle of mixed berries and topped with a star-shaped vanilla cookie. The atmosphere makes it seem as if Chef Geoff's is a steakhouse, especially with its dimly lit interior and classy decor, but the menu is far from that. Though there isn't an incredible selection, Chef Geoff's has a variety of options, including sandwiches, pizzas and more pricey dinner entrees.

Chef Geoff's is a very popular scene in DC currently. Located near numerous office buildings, live theaters, and tourist attractions, Chef Geoff's always draws a large crowd. At the bar, it's fun and noisy. The happy hour is hugely appealing with it's inexpensive burgers and delicious pizzas to share. While the beers are a great bargain, it is in desparate need of a wine special though. The dark wood and mirrored decor host an atmosphere great for upscale drinks like wine and martini's.
One of the biggest attractions is the fixed price theater menu, set at $29 for three courses. It's a great bargain for a large amount of food. Everything from the juicy burgers to the creamy blend of grits and shrimp are wonderful for a simple, light fare after work or before the theater. Bravo, Chef Geoff's!

Pizza was a little bland. Have had salads in the past that were much better. Service excellent.
