My partner and I ALWAYS make Annie's our first stop when we're in the city and have been known to enjoy 4 or 5 meals there in a weekend. I know that's a bit much, but they're that good. Needless to say, it's one of our favorites. The food is fantastic, and the service is top-notch for such a casual place. Be prepared for it to be busy, because Annie's is such a communal place that just draws you in. And I must give the highest praise to Alfred...or is it Allen? Anyway, he's mainly an afternoon server. He is my favorite server in any restaurant in the world!!! He sees me 2 or 3 times a year and always remembers what I want to drink and what I like on the menu. And his attitude and personality fill the place with warmth. Amazing! Oh, and the view of 17th St. is great. Just a casual neighborhood place. I recommend Annie's to everyone.

I just love Annie's. Very dependable, everything is as described and arrives steaming hot at your table from the hands of a friendly server. On such an often-disappointing food strip as 17th Street, Annie's stands out. This is NOT a fancy place-- come here to have fun and when you don't feel like dressing up, or when you just want reliable steak at 3 in the morning. I would definitely recommend this place.

Just a great reliable place for a meal. A real neighborhood spot that's always just a bit above average because that's all they try to be! To turn out 48 + continuous hours of food every weekend is a daunting task. Is there the occasional bad meal? Sure, but how much haute cuisine can you eat? Prime rib shouldn't require a coat and tie for God's sake!!

Annie's has been an old stand-by for me for many years. Though the prices have gone up a bit, you can't beat the decent steaks and prime rib, well done cocktails, and usually fun crowd and wait staff. Annies is open way late for weekend brunch, after one of those long nights at the clubs around Dupont Circle.

Great place for late night eating. I'm not much of a french toast guy but the french toast at Annie's is plain ridiculous. Burgers are equally tasty, if that's what you're in the mood for. It's a steakhouse but strangely I've never tried the steak. The french toast stole my attention from the first time I set foot in there.
It gets noisy and the setting is a lot like a dark diner so don't expect fine-dining. It's great value, though, and like I said, great late night food.

Comfy, great food, friendly service, lively atmosphere, dine where the smart diners go. The holiday bruch is fun and good.
Only drawback: dine in the back. The front is for those who smoke like there's no tomorrow.

Great place to get a decent steak for cheap(er). Very casual, fun crowd. Lots of options to choose from on the menu. Plus its open late!

When you need a big juicy steak at 3:30 in the morning, where else are you going to go? Truth be told, Annies is a great place to eat any time of day. A well-kept secret is the hamburger - one of the best in the city. It's truly a crime it's only available at certain times because it's so darn good. Bull in the pan is also a good bet every time.

The customer service was excellent! As a new resident of Washington, I have found it challenging to find customer service of this caliber anywhere.

i went there to see what the hype was about, everyone talks about Annie's and there is always a crwod, well apparently they always have a crowd based on the place being an 'institution' on 17th street because everything from the bartender waiting on me (the owner's daughter i overheard)to the value for the cost left A LOT to be desired. I left there feeling ripped off after spending almost $40 on a meal i only ate a fraction of and was never asked if i enjoyed it or not. My water glass was empty through most of the meal, the bartender cleared my plates with most of the food still on them and untouched without even asking a question as generic as 'how was everything?' overall horrible experience.
