Perrys new chef Jose Picazo makes it one of the best restaurants around!

Dinner at Perrys Restaurant in Adams Morgan is a unique experience for the tastebuds. Their mix of Japanese sushi bar and fresh Spanish cuisine with local ingredients gives any dinner a chance to enjoy the seasonal variety of the tapas, or small plates, designed for sharing and allow the palette to be excited. The experience is one that will not be forgotten. The perfect balance of textures and flavors leave other tapas restaurants, even Jose Andres’ Jaleo, in the dust.
And while some restaurants use the specials as a way to repurpose an overstock of ingredients, Perrys specials are what they receive fresh from their farmers, so they are guaranteed to please.

Of note, definitely try the chicken croquetas, lobster with organic tomato salad (if available), and the seared scallop.

Overall, Perrys was one of the best meals that I’ve had in a long time. Chef Jose Picazo is an amazing chef and his Spanish inspiration combined with owner Saied Azali’s obsession with fresh, local, organic food makes Perrys Restaurant one of the best unpretentious, welcoming restaurants in the DC region.
Their seasonal menu will change three times a year, so ask your waiter, chef or owner for their recommendations.

A few years ago Perry's sushi was tops on my hit list. However, nowdays it's so-so. Considering the prices and the quality reputation Perry's strives for, that's too bad. The gorgeous upper deck, filled with ivy-covered latticework and plenty of fresh air, hides a multitude of sins, including the lackluster waitstaff. Go here if you want to impress a date with a pretty location...as long as that person doesn't mind a prolonged wait for average food. Hey, that's where your dazzling conversation skills kick in, right?

Drag queen brunch show is very fun. Prepare to be part of show. Foodwise, the brunch is terrible for $27. Bread--no butter, mystery looking meat that turns out to be some odd form of fish. Drab looking apples. I suppose you are paying for the show and not for the food.

Had the sushi, just ok, not the freshest. The spider roll was particularly bad. The soft-shell crab was too fishy and tasted as if it sat around awhile. It's a little on the pricey side for sushi of this quality. The wait staff on the roofdeck was distracted, we had to ask a few times for water and appetizers that we'd ordered. They also charged us for the highest-grade toro which we didn't order instead of the mid-grade, but we chose to just pay it because it was such a hassle to get the wait staff's attention. Won't go again for the sushi.

We stumbled upon a fun alternative to the dry, ordinary Sunday brunch at Perry's! The food was great and as we enjoyed the quiet restuarant we knew something big was about to happen as the music suddenly got really loud and out came a larger than life Whitney Houston impersonater! This artist was trully memorable and made the brunch entertaining to say the least.

This place was very pricey for the quality and amount of food. Another person in my party ordered a fish entree and it literally was two bites. $10.00+ martinis. The dessert was terrible. Duncan Heinz box cake was better. I enjoy fine dining but this place wasn't fine enough for the price.

We came for the divas in drag, but left dissapointed due to the huge bill. The buffet was hardly worth $22 per person, and they even charged $2 for each coffee (!). One waitress (actually, the ONLY female waitstaff) was very rude and when I asked her where the restrooms are, she merely stared for a moment and then pointed. The chocolate mousse was delicious, and the performance made the snobbery (almost) worth it.

Group went to rooftop dining area. Long wait, even on a Monday night. Service was slow. Had to ask repeatedly to have our water glasses refilled. Ordered sushi for everyone. Not all the waiters were familiar w/ the different sushi types on our tray. However the rooftop location is great.

The sushi has improved markedly, where just a few months ago it was some of the most dreadful to be found in the area. But the real news here is that there is a menu of "American food" now, featuring the likes of bison, venison, quail, and slightly exotic vegetables like sorrel, hedgehog mushrooms, and baby turnips. The cooking is more careful -- meat ordered medium-rare actually was -- and the food is nicely presented. I had the shad roe, which is in season, but which wasn't the finest quality. It was fried too long and came out tough. But its bed of soft polenta and citrus-infused strands of sorrel was great.

Perrys has the best food/sushi in town. Also has a great brunch as well!
