U Street's Vinoteca will be the premiere spot to catch the World Cup this year, with wine, beer and spirits from different cultures lending an international vibe to game days. Soccer fans will be welcomed with four $8 cachaca cocktails, $5 international beer specials including Mahou (Spain), Peroni (Italy), and Tecate (Mexico), and $6 international wines including Portugal's Broadbent Vinho Verde, Italy's Sorbara Lambrusco and Argentina's Chanarmuyo Malbec. The celebration will kick off with the opening match of Brazil vs. Croatia on June 12, when Vinoteca will open early at 4 p.m. After the first match, Vinoteca will open at its regularly scheduled times and air games during regular business hours. Fans have two TV options for viewing: staying cool and cheering at the indoor bar, or watching outside on Vinoteca's outdoor plaza.
