The legal eagles in David Mamet’s lawyerly dissertation on how ethnicity plays into issues of guilt and shame, are smoothies, but in their reassuringly practiced cadences, you’ll still detect the verbal tics and hesitations of Mametspeak. If the author has been a tad schematic in the way he’s parceled out the arguments in this 2009 play (which mirrors to an almost jaw-dropping extent, the Dominique Strauss-Kahn affair of 2011) its essence -- entrenched white male privilege battling perceived black entitlement – is still clear in John Vreeke’s spare, briskly authoritative production.
