Food Network Humor revels in its self-imposed role to bring the foodie cable channel to its knees — or at least "back down to Earth." This posting on ugly tattoos is a little off-target for the site, but hilarious nonetheless.

The most disturbing image has to be the Silence of the Lambs dude with the McDonaldland characters inked across his chest. Makes me shiver just looking at it.

Mike Licht over at NotionsCapital got way too much of my attention this afternoon with his recent post on food tattoos (scroll down to the bottom of the page to read it). Says Licht: "Cupcakes are big this season, on hips, shoulders, calves, bums, and bosoms."

He's not kidding. But what's interesting is how this unstoppable craze is expressed in skin art.

There's the bad-ass take on the skull and crossbones. There's the pastoral butterfly-on-cupcake tat. There's the flowering cupcake. There's even a cupcake taking a dump. The last cupcake comes complete with unshaven legs.

I'd love to be present, years from now, when dad has to try to explain the shitting cupcake tattoo to his kid.
