Popovsky strongly denied that suggestion and went so far as to say: "That restaurant will be there longer than Obama is in office, whether he gets elected for another four years or not."

Despite the president's habit of restaurant hopping, Obama has yet to visit Lincoln. But Popovsky namedrops a slew of other officials from the Obama administration who have paid a visit. "Pretty much everyone but [Obama] and his wife," says Popovsky. "We've had his speechwriter, Jon Favreau. We've had the chairman of the [Federal Communications Commission]. We've had the director of the Department of Agriculture. We've had several high-ranking officials. But we have not have the president. No. If it happens, it happens."

While Wolfgang Puck's The Source at the Newseum has had no shortage of boldface-name diners, there's nothing like a presidential visit to cement a D.C. restaurant's celebrity status. Back in January, President Obama and Michelle Obama dined there for the first lady's 47th birthday. Now, in honor of Presidents' Day, the restaurant is offering a special menu recreating the meal the president and first lady had at the restaurant.

If you choose to go that route, the price per person in $85, excluding tax and gratuity. What's for dinner?

In case you were wondering what was on the menu at Wednesday night's state dinner for Chinese President Hu Jintao, according to The Washington Post, "executive chef Cristeta Comerford and pastry chef Bill Yosses created a menu of pear salad with goat cheese, poached Maine lobster, rib-eye and old-fashioned—how American—apple pie with vanilla ice cream. The menu included honey and herbs from the White House garden as well as produce from the Chef's Garden in Ohio, a family-run business specializing in fresh food."

The question of the day is whether or not Ray's Hell Burger, the prez's preferred patty, will be opening a D.C. location at CityVista. Prince of Petworth, as is our liege's habit, teases us with such a rumor.

But DCist, you know, actually did some reporting and asked owner Michael Landrum if he's planning an expansion. He waffles on the subject. "While Landrum did not outright deny the possibility of a City Vista Ray's location, he told DCist that he regularly fields offers from a number of developers," wrote Jamie R. Liu.

Personally, I'd call Landrum for further clarification, but I don't have the time right now for a 45-minute conversation. More to come on this subject, no doubt.
