Toki Underground and Maketto chef/owner Erik Bruner-Yang has pleaded guilty to simple assault, following an attack on his ex-girlfriend's fiancé in June. Legal troubles aside, Toki Underground chef Erik Bruner-Yang is proceeding with his latest project: a three-month "residency and test kitchen" at U Street NW Vietnamese restaurant Hanoi House. Bruner-Yang will play with dishes for Maketto, the food and fashion market he's opening on H Street NE with DURKL's Will Sharp later this year.
