Barcelona Wine Bar to Open Another D.C. Restaurant

Always-packed 14th Street NW Spanish tapas spot Barcelona Wine Bar is opening another location at the Cathedral Commons development in Cleveland Park late this year or early next. It will be joined by Raku, which Y&H reported a year ago, in addition to a Giant supermarket, Starbucks, and lots of other retail.

This isn't the only local expansion for the group behind the restaurant. The Connecticut-based company plans to open another Barcelona Wine Bar plus Bartaco—"upscale street food with a coastal vibe"—in Reston Town Center later this summer.

The restaurants' publicist Ria Rueda didn't have additional details to share yet. She says the new locations will be similar to the 14th Street spot, but not carbon copies.
