Pizzeria Paradiso’s Cookbook is Here
Fans of Pizzeria Paradiso don't necessarily have to wait for a table to try one of owner Ruth Gresser's Neapolitan-style pies anymore.
Gresser has just released a pizza-making cookbook with Quarry Books called Kitchen Workshop—Pizza, the first in the publisher's series of how-to cooking guides. The book covers everything from dough basics to sauce-making, plus recipes for some of the restaurant's favorites (including the bottarga pizza—one of City Paper's 50 must-try dishes).
To celebrate the new book, Pizzeria Paradiso has a number of deals and events during the next two weeks. For starters, if you buy a book at any Pizzeria Paradiso location, an 8-inch pizza and draft beer are only $10. There’s also a photo contest: Post a pic of your pizza on Instagram with the hashtag #KWPIZZACONTEST before Feb. 15 for the chance to win a signed cookbook and $25 gift card.
Gresser will also host a number of book signings at her restaurants (Feb. 5 at Dupont Circle, Feb. 6 at Georgetown, Feb. 7 at Old Town Alexandria). The festivities culminate with a party at the Brewmaster’s Castle on Feb. 12 that will include pizzas, antipasti, beers, and cider, plus pizza-making demonstrations and more book signings.
