America Eats Tavern Coming to the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner
America Eats Tavern, José Andrés' year-long Penn Quarter pop-up, is making a comeback in November. This time, it's reincarnating permanently at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner, previously home to Michel Richard's Michel.
PR and marketing firm The Aba Agency broke the news via Twitter. The Post followed up with a story saying that the concept will be tweaked for the northern Virginia crowd, and the menu will not provide anecdotal history lessons with each dish as it previously did.
America Eats Tavern, which operated from July 2011 through July 2012, was originally created in conjunction with a National Archives exhibit on the government's role in the American diet. Andrés offered contemporary takes on dishes from hush puppies to clam chowder to oysters Rockefeller.
