Meat-Free Week Starts Now

Last week's Meat Week was all about smoked and sizzled animal parts. Now, the city's vegetarians are biting back with Meat-Free Week.

DCVegan, The Kindness Collective, and Compassion Over Killing are teaming up on a series of events today through Feb. 11. The festivities range from cooking classes to a vegan pop-up dinner to comedy from a vegan (yes, really). Check out the full list of events via a press release below:

Monday, Feb. 4

Whole Foods Market Foggy Bottom

6 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Join Rachel's free monthly vegetarian cooking class to learn how to make new vegan favorites. Class size is limited; R.S.V.P. to rachel.morris@wholefoods.com.

Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats

6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Our second annual BBQ Kick-Off Party!  Enjoy a full meal of BBQ, purple slaw, collard greens, cheezy jalapeno corn bread, and a special cupcake for only $17.99! Dine-in with your Meat-Free Week organizers. Carry out also available.

Tuesday, Feb. 5

Casa Oaxaca

Saturday, Feb. 9

Todd Gray's Muse at The Corcoran

Savor an all-you-can-eat vegan brunch and the chance to chat with vegan comedian and fellow bruncher Myq Kaplan.
