It is *not* in the DC area. It is well, well outside. Google maps puts it 69.1 miles away from the White House, a 1h 23m drive. Baltimore is much more in the DC area than little Washington, likewise Annapolis. We don't consider Hagerstown, MD or Fredericksburg, VA to be DC-area (striking distance, yes, not not DC-ish), so let's stop with little Washington. Are we including it just because it shares a place name? I want to start a campaign to stop the Inn at Little Washington from showing up on DC food critic's lists.
