H &pizza Coming to U Street Corridor This Spring

H &pizza has been open fewer than five months, but already the fast causal spot on H Street NE has plans to expand to U Street NW.

Co-owner Steve Salis tells Y&H that the restaurant has signed a lease for a 1,200 square foot space at 1250 U St. NW, which currently is home to a Quiznos. He hopes to open in the spring.

As for whether H &pizza will change its name at its new location—U &pizza, anyone?—Salis won't say.

"I'm not going to be able to comment on that yet," he says. "Obviously we're at the beginning stages of putting it all together."

I am crazy about H &pizza, and am both surprised and thrilled that they're profiting, since their concept is so customer-friendly: $9 nets you a pizza good for two people (or one hungry person), with ANY AND ALL toppings you want. Their toppings are of amazing quality, too! I ordered one with truffle spread and prosciutto -- yum.

I know I'm starting to sound like a Yelp review, but more people should know how it works! I would never have thought to visit if I didn't see a copy of their menu at an event (H Street is far from where I live and work, and parking there isn't exactly a breeze).
