Minibar Reservations Open Tomorrow

Mark your calendars for 10 a.m. tomorrow. Minibar is back.

José Andrés' revamped avant-garde restaurant at 855 E St. NW will begin accepting reservations tomorrow morning for Nov. 2 seatings. Only this time, you can only snag a seat via email (reserve@minibarbyjoseandres.com). The reservations will be accepted in the order they are received. There will be seatings at 6, 6:30, 8:30, and 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Things are also a little pricier for the new 20-plus dish tasting. Instead of $150 per person, the menu is $225 (excluding tax and tip). Drink pairings ail be offered for an additional $75, $120, or $200.

The 12-seat space (with two six-seat bars) was designed by Spaniard Juli Capella, who was also responsible for the renovation of Jaleo earlier this year. According to a press release, the dining room is "inspired by the duality of life—from the ultimate technological sophistication of the kitchen to the domestic comfort of the furniture. The space will represent a subtle contrast between the hard and soft surfaces, a compliment (sic) between a single piece and a group of objects, a comprehensive play of vibrant colors and black and white austerity."

If you're lucky enough to secure a seat, maybe you can tell us what that means.

$225 before tax and tip? Why is this dining experience worth more than Cityzen, Komi, etc?

I was looking forward to going again but now that's too much for me...I know its worth it, but we're in Manhattan michelin star territory now for price point
