Zola and Potenza To Close

The rumors are true: Stir Food Group restaurants Potenza and Zola will both close this summer.

Zola is set to close June 30, and Potenza on Aug. 18. Zola Wine & Kitchen closed last month, but Potenza Wine Shop will remain open, says Zola manager Melissa Pinkerton.

The Malrite Company, which also owns the Spy Museum, no longer wants to be in the food and beverage industry, Pinkerton says.

Pinkerton and Potenza assistant general manager Dave Havern both tell Y&H that Vidalia and Bistro Bis chef/owner Jeffrey Buben will take over the Potenza space on Sept. 1. Buben told Y&H this morning that he is still working on a lease and did not disclose a location. But according to Pinkerton, it's "pretty finalized."

(Correction: Due to a reporting error, this post originally stated that the Malrite Company owns the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland. In fact, Malrite founder Milton Maltz helped create the hall of fame, but neither he nor the company own it.)

Bad memories at Zola. So, sadly, I'm happy they're closing!!!

Get your facts straight Sidman. The Rock Hall is not owned by a for profit corporation. I can't believe a "reporter" is so lazy and incompetent as to not check basic facts in such a short story.

Derr yeah, that for profit-corporation is the Malrite Company, like she says. Read the article before you make dumb comments.

Love Bistro Bis. Didn't know it was a Buben establishment.

While I adore Potenza (I just had my wedding reception there this weekend!), I'm ecstatic that the space is going to the person behind Bistro B. Better that than some stupid psuedo-chain.
