Chicago’s Townhouse Restaurant Is Bringing Sake-Drunken Chicken To D.C.

The company Restaurants-America has reportedly signed a lease to install its Townhouse Restaurant & Wine Bar brand in 6,000 square feet at 700 6th Street NW. Citybiz Real Estate has the scoop. Townhouse has three existing locations: two in the Chicago area and a third in Sherman Oaks, Ca. A peek at the Windy City menu reveals a number of small plates, soups, sandwiches and other specialties, including a sake marinated "drunken" chicken, as well as a wine list that categorizes varieties like dames: "blondes" and "red heads." Classy. The joint aims to open in the spring.

    interesting menu. mongolian bbq ribs with red curry sauce. tempura sashimi roll with szechuan mustard. cheese with truffled honey. beef satay with plantain. cantonese caramel glazed shrimp. risotto with sake butter sauce. pad thai with lobster sauce. "drunken" chicken with apricot-chile arbol glaze. i have little confidence these people know what they are doing.
