Jacques Pépin Doesn’t Think Much Of D.C.’s Food Scene

“I appreciate the couple of times I was there. I went to local markets—Vietnamese and Thai, and they were all very good. That to me is always great, I love to go to markets.”—Celebrity chef Jacques Pépin, one of several boldface names heading to D.C.'s upcoming Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show, when asked by Washingtonian what he thinks of the Washington food scene

So wait...which part of the food scene does he not think much of? He called Michel Richard "an extraordinary chef," which sounds like a compliment to me.

"Doesn't think much of" and "Didn't say a lot about" are two different things.

I think the title to this article is totally misleading.

  • Huh?

Agree with the others. There was nothing even mildly critical about DC.

He also doesn't seem to be that up on the times given that he plans to have lunch at Citronelle.

Yup. Misleading title. I suggest "Jacques Pepin Doesn't Say Much About DC's Food Scene."

I think this is the wrong headline as well. How about Pepin 'appreciates' D.C.'s local food markets? Don't use headlines to confuse your readers.
