Bobby Flay’s Burger Palace Is a Food Porn Treasure Trove

Celebrity chef Bobby Flay's new eponymous beef emporium on K Street, Bobby's Burger Palace, won't officially open for another two weeks: Aug. 16, to be exact. But the menu is already online. And so is a gallery of slick images, including several provocative close-ups of the food. Check out the orgy of potato chips on a bed of cheese-slathered meat pictured above. This is called the "crunchburger." More tantalizing pics below:

Open up and say 'ahhh' for Bobby's Santa Fe burger. Don't forget to taste the pickle.

No veggie burgers? What a shame. These look great, but doesn't seem like there's any effort to reach a sizeable number of consumers.

  • Hooray Bobby Flay

It looks like they have a delightful grilled cheese, as well as one vegetarian salad. Or you could just get two orders of sweet potato fries. See? You're all set!

    I hate Flay.

Maybe they'll let us put some of those great burger toppings on the grilled cheese? #bobbyflayfail

"Doesn't seem like there's any effort to reach a sizeable number of consumers."

-Actually, he is making an effort to reach a very sizeable number of consumers - meat eaters. If I were dining out with one of my many vegetarian friends, I would never suggest - and they would never agree to go to - a place that bills itself as a "burger joint." Ray's Hell Burger doesn't have any veggie burgers either. (I don't consider grilled portabello mushrooms to be a burger.)

Why are vegans/vegetarians always so cranky? If I went to “Bobby’s Veggie Burger Palace” I would not bemoan the fact they were missing out on a huge market by not serving meat. Get a life!

    Perhaps they're not getting enough...Ketchup.

Chris Shott... I like your writing.

Unrelated - the prices look suspiciously reasonable. $5 for a cocktail?? $3.50 for beer?? That's downright affordable...

Actually, $6.75 is cheaper than most places. This isn't Paducah, Kentucky - leases on K St are expensive and you can't sell burgers for $3.

"Unrelated - the prices look suspiciously reasonable. $5 for a cocktail?? $3.50 for beer?? That's downright affordable..."

No, I once got a a beer for 50 cents in Norwood, Ohio in 1997. $3.50 is absurd! Everything is overpriced!

Yes, actually for K st, the prices are surprisingly cheap. The Casey's around the corner on L st sells (very good) sandwiches at about the same price, so this is pretty competitive. That said, the menu (and the pictures too) is a bit underwhelming. Nothing there screams Iron Chef at me. Kind of disappointing.

So once you push down on the cruchburger so you can actually eat it, you end up with a plate full of broken shards of potato chips.

    Bobby Flay is an idiot.
