Quick Feeding: Food Cart Ousted From Corner

  • Food Cart Forced Off Corner: The Metro Halal food cart vendor outside 1100 Wilson Blvd. in Rosslyn has been evicted from his spot by Monday Properties, the owners of the building that's home to WJLA-TV, TBD, and Politico. [ARLNow]
  • Indigestion: After increasing my burrito intake the past few weeks, this makes my stomach hurt. [Y&H, The Feast]
  • Yes and No at Cosi: Who'd ever think that the crème brûlée cheesecake and double trouble brownie sundae would be unhealthy?!? It is, along with Cosi's Signature salad. [Washingtonian]
  • Interior Details: At the new Matchbox in Rockville, the "wall above the entrance is constructed from reclaimed wood taken from two barns outside Rochester, N.Y." [Express]
  • No-So-Warm Welcome: It looks like a coffeeshop is coming to North Capitol Street near P Street. But there's nothing like shattered glass to make a new business feel at home... [PoP]

first district taco was thrown out of that street corner, now the halal cart. for those of us who work in rosslyn, it's very hard to get a decent lunch, and i always hoped the food carts would help change things. there must be more than 10,000 people working here every day, and somehow that's not enough to get some decent food. there's nothing else but chains and overpriced "buffets" here.
