Are Burger Fumes Really Distracting?
The Trial of the Century (or at least of the month) has been ongoing all week in D.C. Superior Court, pitting international legal powerhouse Steptoe & Johnson against hamburger purveyor Rogue States. The lawyers are suing the burger guys, because, allegedly, fumes from the Rogue States kitchen are making their way into the Steptoe climate control system, distracting the lawyers from their very expensive billable hours and generally making them ill.
We at Washington City Paper may not be experts in real estate law, or in kitchen vent technology. But that didn't stop us from engaging in an experiment to determine, using the latest in pseudo-scientific techniques, whether burger fumes really can distract people from the legal business.
