This Just In From Roberto Donna…

DSCN2664_opt

Roberto Donna extended an olive branch to Y&H this week. I think it's fairly safe to say he didn't like the pot shots I had taken on the blog about the opening-date delays of Galileo III. He suggested, quite correctly, that his was not the first restaurant to see predicted launch dates come and go.

I suggested he might want to go on the record with the reason for the current delay. The chef's response this morning via e-mail:

We were just waiting for fire inspection and we passed this morning . We will open next week officialy.

I asked if he had an official date in mind for the opening. He wrote back:

You can say next tuesday so it is for sure that we will be ready.

That's nice, now how 'bout he extend an olive branch to some of his former employees by paying them their back wages.

Note to Galileo III employees: insist on being paid in cash by the day, because sooner or later those checks are going to start to bounce.

Of course, he could have avoided all those Y&H potshots if he'd not told all the doubters to eat shit when he promised an opening week...

One more place to never spend a dime in.

"He suggested, quite correctly, that his was not the first restaurant to see predicted launch dates come and go."

Yes that is correct. But what Bebo forgot to add is that this place has also been beset by atypical delays caused by the lawsuits filed by former employees who would like to be paid for their work (what a concept). And then there was that felony embezzlement case in Arlington County. Plus the VA and US tax liens.
