Young and Hungry

This Week: SAVOR Mania Hits D.C.

Craft beer fans in the District have hit the motherload. As SAVOR, the Brewers Association craft beer and food pairing event approaches this weekend, great brewers and beers from across the country are descending upon D.C. all week.

While most breweries are in town for the sold-out shindig at the National Building Museum Saturday night, many are coming in early or sticking around late to offer opportunities to drink and learn about their beer.

As you navigate your options this week, rest assured that Young & Hungry has got your back. In addition to keeping the master list of pre- and post-SAVOR events, each morning we will be posting the day in beer and giving you the skinny about what events are still open and where we think you should go.

Today is an easy one for an easy start to a busy drinking week. Starting at 4pm, the East Coast Craft Beer Cask Party at ChurchKey will feature free glassware and rare offerings from five influential East Coast craft breweries: Harpoon, Dogfish Head, Peak Organic, Heavy Seas, and Flying Dog.

For a drool-inducing preview of the rest of the week, scroll through our D.C. Beer Events Calendar above and click on an event for details.

I know it is a small detail but the Brickskeller event on Thursday is featuring "Odell" Brewing and not "O'Dell"
I would recommend that event. My parents live in Fort Collins and Doug Odell is a cool brewer and the beers are good English-style ales.

SAVOR is such a religious experience for me -- I've been to the past two, and have my ticket for Saturday -- that I will make the ultimate sacrifice.

I won't drink on Friday night.
