Angelico la Pizzeria Coming to Glover Park

It's not clear from this signage (or from the company's Web site) whether this promised pizzeria in Glover Park is part of the budding Angelico empire or not. My good liege over at Prince of Petworth wondered the same thing on Wednesday (with a much nicer photo, I must say).

I made a couple of calls yesterday and learned that the restaurant is part of the Angelico chain. It's supposed to open in two to four weeks. There are other Angelico locations throughout the metro area, too, including forthcoming ones on H Street NE and 12 Street NW.

I don't know if this is a good thing or not. Personally, I've never step foot inside an Angelico pizzeria. Are its pies any good? Chime in, Y&H Nation!

The one up in Tenleytown is disgusting. When you're in college that level of grease and salt may work, but not now.

If you're in the mood for a good old-fashioned American pizza - a greasy, unhealthy, cheese-and-pepperoni-y number, not a gourmet, Red Rocks-style überpie - Angelico's pretty good. I order from their Mt. Pleasant location and am never disappointed. (The only downside is that their online ordering isn't working, and hasn't been for a couple of months now...)

I had a slice from them and I got sick. I wish I read these comments before I went in.
