The Beer Mapping Project (beermapping.com) is a great resource for finding breweries, beer bars, brewing supply stores, etc. all over the country and in several foreign cities (I've used it in London and Copenhagen).

Also, Rate Beer (www.ratebeer.com) is also a solid resource for information on beer, beer events and beer news. It's a lot like Beer Advocate.
