Gouden Carolus Beer Dinner at Granville Moore’s NEXT Wednesday
NOTE: We just learned that this event has been moved from September 30 to October 7.
Last Friday the Lagerheads ran into Teddy Folkman (of Granville Moore's and Food Network fame) at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, where he and Brewery Ommegang's Steve Cardello co-hosted a session on cooking with beer. About forty lucky beer geeks got to hear all about Teddy's approach to pairing beer and food, as well as try his Bobby Flay-conquering dish, Moules Fromage Bleu, featuring Ommegang Hennepin and Hook's Blue Cheese.
Been looking for a way to try Folkman's head-turning grub without the crowds and long waits? Look no further! This Next Wednesday Teddy will be preparing a six-course meal paired with Gouden Carolus (and a few other) Belgian beers and serving it in the intimate setting of his upstairs bar. There won't be any mussels, but based on our last beer dinner at Granville Moore's, we are confident you won't miss them.
The night will feature a selection of cheeses hand-picked by Karen Dee of International Gourmet Foods, and Folkman has chosen to kick things off with Gouden Carolus' 9% Tripel. If that's not an indicator of how great the event is bound to be, we don't know what is. More details after the jump.
