Alton Brown’s “Good Eats” Comes to Hulu

Alton BrownI rarely get effusive about things that have so little to do with drinking, but this is great news. Food Network's Good Eats with Thomas Dolby lookalike Alton Brown is now available to watch on Hulu.

Now before you get your gluten strands in a knot, note that you can't watch full episodes yet, only clips. I've asked Hulu if we can expect more and will update you when I hear back.

If you're new to the show, host Alton Brown is food's Bill Nye, or TV's Harold McGee. He's hyper-informative, equally practical and scientific, and eschews strict recipes for more applicable knowledge. Example: the chocolate-chip cookie episode (sadly not on Hulu) goes through many iterations of the Toll House recipe, explaining what happens when you swap brown sugar for white, cake flour for all-purpose, shortening for butter, and so on. By the end, you learn not only how to make a damn good cookie, but more holistic knowledge on the physics of baking.

To get you started, here are takes from AB on blueberry buckle and baby-back ribs.
